Our campsite is easy to reach and accessible for all camping options, varying from small campervans to tents. We do not offer pre-ordered season spots, you will choose your own spot to camp. We will ashore you that the neighbours … won’t be bothering you, the will be grazing in the grassland next to the camping. On the camping is more than enough room for activities, such as a game of soccer. In the evening you’ll be able to make a campfire on a set location. A(n) (evening) walk to the close-by pond, complete with hiking route is also heavily recommended. If you would like to camp here, but haven’t got a camping option yourself, we will be able to offer you our ‘chicken’, a small caravan with four sleeping spaces. Environment around the camping Twijzel is a small village with around a thousand inhabitants located in the area of the ‘Fryske Wâlden’. The scenery characterises itself by the ‘dykswâlden’, small dikes between pieces of farm- or grassland, and ‘pingo’s’, which are ponds of varying sizes that date from the ice ages. The villages of Buitenpost, Kollum, Zwaagwesteinde and Surhuisterveen are located within a reasonable range of our camping and feature the needed facilities. More and more people are discovering this beautiful piece of Fryslân. The scenery varies from forest to grass- and farmland as far as the eye can see, all the way to the stunning nature of the Lauwersmeer area, on the coast of the Waddenzee. Come and discover this beautiful area, on ways such as one of the many cycling routes, marked out by the so called ‘knooppunten’ (junctions)

vanaf de A7 neemt u bij Drachten afrit 30a, de N31 richting Burgum. Na ongeveer 2 km neemt u de afslag Rottevalle. Aan het eind van deze afrit gaat u rechtsaf de N369 op deze volgt u ruim 10 km. … Bij iedere rotonde gaat u rechtdoor (3x) Bij de vierde rotonde gaat u rechtsaf en bent u in Twijzel op de N355. Nu neemt u de derde weg links, (richting Kollumerzwaag) na 500 meter ziet u de camping aan de rechterzijde van de Wedze.
